Salmam khan shoots a song for ‘Hello’

Superstar Salman Khan finally gave his dates to brother-in-law, Atul Agnihotri. After several months wait, Salman finally shot a stage song for the film ‘Hello’ at ND studios Karjat. 75 Indian and Russian dancers with a crowd of about 700 were involved in shooting the song for over a 7 day schedule. The song was choreographed by Rajiv Surti and set was designed by Nitin Chandrakant Desai.

The film is presented by Paul Parmar and produced and directed by Atul Agnihotri.  The film is based on the bestseller book ‘Óne night at call centre’ by Chetan Bhagat.

The film stars  Sharman Joshi, Sohail Khan, Ishaa Koppikar, Amrita Arora, Gul Panag , Sarath Saxena, Dalip Tahil and Suresh Menon .It has special appearances by Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, and Arbaaz Khan.

Shilpa’s kissing confusion!

Shilpa sure knows how to hit the news stands on a daily basis. There is something or the other that makes news about this slim and lithe Bollywood beauty. She has almost become a Bollywood icon in UK representing India.

Lately life has been too busy for this dark-eyed beauty and she has been traveling to many places around the globe, either for shooting, to endorse her brands or to popularize her musical. Though Shilpa seems totally at ease traveling, there are a few things that bring jitters to this lady.

One of which is the different ways in which people greet in different areas. Since many of the European countries greet people with a kiss on the cheek, even this simple gesture of friendliness sometimes becomes confusing and if used wrongly might get the host on the wrong mode. It seems there are some places in Europe where they greet each other with two successive kisses on the cheek and in other places two is replaced by three.

And most of the time the numbers keep confusing Shilpa because she keeps wondering when it has to be two and when three because she is very careful not to offend the hosts. It seems the Bollywood heroine had recently mentioned regarding her chaos about this jokingly to a journalist.

Well Shilpa, we just guess it will be a matter of time before you learn things the right way and greet people. Well, back in India, we greet each other without any confusion with folded palms, no confusion at all!

Mayhem in mid-air!

Shiney Ahuja and Esha Deol will be seen paired opposite each other for the first time in Kunal Shivdasani’s film ‘Hijack’. Kunal Shivdasani is famous in the ad film world. If reports doing the rounds about this film are to be believed then the story goes around a flight hijack and how the hero go to limits end to save his kin as well as the other passengers.

The director is reported to have said that he is sure he has got together a winning team and is very positive about the shaping up of the film. He also feels that the new pair in Shiney and Esha will be like a breath of fresh air from the other faces.

Shiney is essaying the role of an action hero in this film and Esha will be seen essaying the role of a bold and beautiful air hostess. If all goes well then this film will hit theatres during the holiday season, in May!

Let’s just wait and watch if our hero and heroine together are able to save the distressed plane along with the passengers and get them on the ground in one piece.

Rakesh Roshan signs Barbara Mori for ‘Kites’!

Rakesh Roshan signs the top Latin actress “Barbara Mori” as the leading lady of his upcoming film “Kites” opposite Hrithik Roshan.

The film is also starring Kangana Ranaut and is set to be directed by Anurag Basu along with the amazing musical composition by Rajesh Roshan. The remaining cast and credits are currently being finalized. The casting is taking place in Bombay & Los Angeles.

“Kites” is to be shot in New Mexico, Las Vegas and Los Angeles. The film is another Film Kraft Production’s presentation and is scheduled to go into production by the end of July 2008.

Rashtrapathi beckons Aamir!

Look who received a call from the Rashtrapathi Bhavan! Aamir Khan indeed. No Aamir is not going to support anyone in the political front or is he going to join any party. So what is the ‘asli’ reason?

Our first lady Ms. Prathiba Patil had expressed a desire to watch the film ‘Taare Zameen Par’ directed by the perfectionist actor Aamir Khan. It happened on Sunday when Aamir Khan along with Darsheel was present at the Rashtrapathi Bhavan for a special screening of this film for our President.

Reports indicate that Madam President who was very particular to watch this film was lacking the time to do so for all these days. When she called on Aamir the actor, who was busy with his shooting for the Hindi remake of ‘Ghajini’ despite his busy schedule took his time off to screen the film to the President.

Reports suggest that Aamir was immensely happy that the president had all good things to say about the film, and she has also urged him to come out with films having a good message for the society. The president also hosted a party in praise of the actors for their excellent performance in this film.

 Darsheel Safrey for his performance in ‘Taare Zameen Par’ walked away with the critics’ award for the best actor in the film and Aamir Khan walked away with the Filmfare award for the best director for this film which is his very first.

Sleep evades Katrina

She is not a smoker, nor is she an alcoholic, she doesn’t do drugs but still sleep seems to evade her. Don’t think too hard till your brain hurts, we are talking about the ‘Namaste London’ babe from London Katrina Kaif. At the outset, life has been great for Katrina, at least in the Bollywood front with great banners signing her for fantastic amounts. All her films too are doing good business.

But if reports doing the rounds are to be heeded to, then his beautiful babe with a brilliant smile seems to be doing less on getting a good night’s sleep. It seems this fair lady had complained to her pals regarding sleep not just coming her way even for an hour. With everything in pink for this sweet dame we wonder what might be eating her mind, literally.

Katrina was recently mentioned as the most bankable heroine in Bollywood because of the hit films that have come her way. Is she contemplating so much on the fate of ‘Race’ that is just about to release or is something about the other films that she has been doing bothering her?

Well whatever it is, we advise you to have a good night’s rest Katie so that the exhaustion does not show on that lovely face for the shots the next day.

Aish-Abhi feud?

Areeee.. why are you upset? We are talking about the roles that this hubby-wife have got to play in RGV’s ‘Sarkar’ sequel ‘Sarkar Raj’ that will see Big B, Junior Bachchan and the Bachchan bahu being cast in lead roles. Though is film has been forecast as a sequel to its previous ‘Sarkar’ this film is huge when compared to the budget and the star cast of its predecessor.

This is the first film that will be releasing for Abhi after his marriage with Aish and what is very interesting is that in this flick the Abhi-Aish character has been dealt with as ‘diametrically opposite’ from each other. Aishwarya Rai plays a hardcore business woman who has her own rules for getting things done her way with no compromise whatsoever.

It will really be interesting to see this romantic couple on and off screen being hitched opposite each other, for all the fans. But we had some news doing the rounds a few days back that ‘Sarkar Raj’ will not be released as scheduled in May and might get delayed because Bachchan senior was not really happy with some scenes involving Abhi after he saw the rushes. Since this is the first film that is going to release for Abhishek after his marriage, Big B had asked the director RGV to redo some scenes involving him and Abhi.

But Ram Gopal Varma, the director of ‘Sarkar Raj’ has reportedly quashed all such rumors and has confirmed that the film will hit theatres in May.

 We guess the real life couple pitting against each other in reel life will be quite a watch!

Shilpa’s ‘biography’ is unauthorized

The so-called ‘biography’ of Shilpa Shetty which is doing roaring business in the UK and has hit Indian shores this week, is actually an unauthorized book. “Shilpa has not spoken about her life to its author Julie Aspinall,” revealed the actresses’ publicist Dale Bhagwagar.

Apparently, her quotes used in the book are borrowed from various magazine and television interviews. Also, it can be analyzed that the book is incorrectly termed a ‘biography’ as it misses out chronicling most aspects of the actresses’ life and career, except from giving liberal accounts of her past relationship with Akshay Kumar.

Bhagwagar agrees, “The book mainly concentrates on the happenings during and after ‘Big Brother’ and on Shilpa’s iconic rise to worldwide fame followed by the transition from actress to diva”.

So can Shilpa be expected to release an ‘authorized’ biography or pen an autobiography in the near future? “Since last year, a new exciting phase has materialized for brand Shilpa Shetty. The market is huge and spread over countries. But Shilpa has many more miles to cover before picking up the pen,” says the publicist.

“Posterity isn’t on her mind right now. What she is concentrating on, is selecting her next interesting movie role from the varied scripts she has been receiving almost every week,” he adds.

Sameera bitten by the funny bug!

There are a very few heroines who have a great timing for comedy and the one latest belonging to this breed is Sameera Reddy. This lass, whom we saw essaying serious characters in a couple of her earlier films is doing comedy too with equal ease!

With a handful of films in her kitty Sameera is one happy girl. With her ‘Race’ to hit the screens soon this belle has something to comment on the film. Though the film is a high budget movie with Bipasha Basu and Katrina Kaif, Sameera Reddy plays an assistant to Anil Kapoor who is a detective. Sameera portrays the role of a beauty with zero brains in the film which is sure to tickle you.

In another film directed by Kumar Mangat titled ‘One, Two, Three’ she has some ‘romantic’ scenes with Paresh Rawal! Now this one should really be funny! Sameera plays an executive selling cars and she sometimes uses her ‘feminine’ charm to have customers her way. And Paresh Rawal tries to sell some male under garments to Sameera!

With the talented Paresh Rawal a part of this humor team this film is sure to make you fall off your seats in laughter.

Sameera is also acting in a romantic flick with South Indian heart throb Suriya in a Tamil film titled ‘Vaaranam Aayiram’ directed by Goutham Menon.
