The Katrina-Ranbir affair!

You got it wrong! Well we are not saying that these two are into an affair, not literally. If reports flowing in are to be trusted then we can soon she Katrina and Ranbir as a couple, in a film of course. The film will be directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and produced by Tips.

Katrina and Ranbir were earlier paired for a Yash Raj company film that was directed by Siddharth Anand, but unfortunately after a few scenes were shot the part of Katrina had to be chopped for reasons unknown. The film features Ranbir, Deepika and Bipasha in the lead roles.

By then news was going around Bollywood as to how ‘in-tune’ Ranbir and Katrina looked one screen and we guess director Santoshi did not want that chemistry to go waste. When he was convinced that Ranbir and Katrina would make a great pair, without wasting anytime the director is reported to have signed the pair.

The producer Ramesh Taurani of Tips is reported to have confirmed the signing the duo.

This film that is yet to be titled will go on the floors soon, and if all goes well the audience will get to see yet another cool pair on screen.

Will the Katrina-Ranbir pair be another most-wanted pair, only time will tell.

‘Salaam-e-Ishq’ times six!

The directors in Bollywood have always experimented with their films. There is one more who has joined this line. If reports making the rounds are true then the ace director Nikhil Advani who made ‘Salaam-e-Ishq’ is all set give a new feel to this film. The director has decided to make this film as six different stories.

While some novel tryst does work some new experiments fail to make an impact on the Indian crowd. So this director has decided to make this new venture in DVDs, so we can view the part that we liked in the film as a separate love story and leave out the rest. It was the production house Eros Entertainment that came up with this plan.

Ain’t that cool?

As we have all seen, ‘Salaam-e-Ishq’ has six couples in the plot from Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Anil Kapoor, Juhi Chawla, Akshaye Khanna, Ayesha Takia, John Abraham, Vidya Balan, Govinda, Shannon Esra, Sohail Khan and Isha Koppikar playing the lead roles. And the viewers can now choose their favorite pair and watch that part alone.

The director has also reportedly said that if at all he wanted to improve any part of the film he would like to improve the ‘Salman-Priyanka’ story. The director who is currently busy shooting for his next flick ‘Chandni Chowk to China’ has supposedly said that he does commercial ads in between film because they give him the moolah to make the films that he dreams to make.

SRK on production a spree?

Yes, if reports doing the rounds in Bollywood circles are true then SRK is contemplating on co-producing Yash Raj films’ upcoming venture ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ that will see Aditya Chopra on the director’s seat.

The Yash Raj films did not have a great year in 2007 with only ‘Chak De India’, being the biggest grosser for the company. The firm also released a line of films like the Rani Mukherjee starrer ‘Laaga Chunari Mein Daag’, the Abhishek-Preity starrer ‘Jhoom Barabar Jhoom’ and the much hyped ‘Aaja Nachle’ that starred Bollywood diva Madhuri Dixit, which failed to make a mark at the box office.

If all goes well then ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ is expected to go on floors by mid-May and will be a year end release for the company.

There are reports making the rounds that though SRK might co-produce this film he would not be charging any fee. But King Khan will share the profits that flow in.

Big B targeted again?

Only recently the chaos of the attack on Big B’s house seemed to die down and even before that here is one more. The ‘Janak’ bungalow situated in Juhu was targeted by some unidentified miscreants in the late hours of last Friday.

No one was injured because the ‘Janak’ block has mostly devoted to office and a gymnasium and since it was late in the evening the block was almost unoccupied. You might remember that there were attacks on the Bachchan residence in the wake of February due to which there was tight security placed in the house.

Some reports are doing the rounds that Bachchan senior had confirmed to seeing a group of gangsters pelting stones as well as bottles in to the ‘Janak’ complex after which they sped off in a Santro car.

As per some reports coming from high sources the DCP Vinay Choubey has revealed that the police station had received calls saying that stones were being pelted at the complex. Reacting to the phone call the DCP had immediately sent a group of police officials to the spot before which the miscreants had escaped.

These kinds of incidents make us wonder the level of security an individual has irrespective of his money and power.

Kangana as Juliet

Hollywood is looking at India for actors these days. With the entertainment industry in India forging ahead our actors have gained recognition the world over. The latest to join this list is Kangana Ranaut.

Well this fair lady has been offered to play one of the most loved romantic characters in English, Juliet. US-based film agency Ambassador Pictures has approached her with this international project. If all goes well we can soon see Kangana play Juliet in a present day version of Romeo & Juliet. We are sure who will play the part of Romeo though.

If reports coming in are to be believed then Kangana has bagged an offer from international movie makers and the film will be called ‘Between the Night and Moon’. Though the actress is not believed to have signed the dotted line when she does the film will be shot in Kashmir and Florida. It is reported that this film will be directed by the Italian director Gilda Pianelli.

Kangana is now busy shooting for Madhur Bhandarkar’s ‘Fashion’ which deals with the dark side of the fashion world.

Arora sisters to grove together!

Wow! Now this one is hot because the hotteset sisters in Bollywood tow have been roped in to perform an item number!

Shree Ashtavinayak CineVision Ltd. has signed the gorgeous sister duo Malaika Arora Khan and Amrita Arora for an exciting item number together, for the very first time! The item number is for Sanjay Gadhvi’s film ‘Kidnap’ starring Sanjay Dutt, Vidya Malavade, Minissha Lamba, Rahul Dev and Reemaa.

The song will be choreographed by Remo and from what we hear it seems to be a very Chicago-type song! Sanjay Dutt too will be a part of the song.

The film has been penned by Shibani Bhatija, and has music by Pritam.  The editing will be done by Rameshwar Bhagat and the stunt sequences will be by Allan Amin. The shooting for this song will start in Filmistan from 9th March till 13th March.

Ashtavinayak’s Media consultant Parag Desai has agreed signing these two beauties and said, “Yes, Ashtavinayak has signed on Malaika and Amrita Arora for an item number for ‘Kidnap’. After canning a song for ‘Golmaal Returns’ on a very large scale we are really looking forward to shooting this song as well. This is the final shooting schedule for the film and after this song the film will be complete”

Well, looks like this is one item song you must watch out for!

Mani’s film sans Ranbir

Well well there is one more story doing the rounds. We had informed you a few days back that ace director from South India, Mani Rathnam, is getting his next project ready. The film will be a love story and will feature the real life love jodi Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

Now the rumor mills are churning with one more story, which says Ranbir will also feature in this project. But insiders who are close to the project have no clue as to where this one started from. It is true that the story demands one more male character but that will have to be someone older than the junior Bachchan.

So now it is clear that it will surely not be Ranbir who will do the role. So who will it be? Maybe another favorite of the director, Madhavan who has done a handful of films with Mani, or will it be Aravind Swamy one more favorite actor of the director who had starred in ‘Roja’ and ‘Bombay’ and both were super-duper hits.

With speculations going around and the director still on the look out for this other character all we can do is just wait till more news emerges on this front.

Preity’s influence on the FM?

Preity Zinta these days is a pretty busy woman, work wise and otherwise. We have seen her acting, endorsing brands, and recently bidding for players in the IPL. Lately this lady had a chance to meet none other than the Finance Minister of India and she was prompt enough to set before him a few requests that she had in mind.

Just before the 2008-09 budget was to be presented Preity along with a few other NGOs got a chance to meet our FM and is reported to have requested him to have this year’s budget woman-friendly.

While they ladies had got less than half-hour to meet Mr. Chidambaram they made the most of it by presenting before him requests like providing incentives for women in the industries, better loan-offers for the single woman and of course compulsory education for the girl child.

The actress felt that though she had originally started as a glamour world personality now a days she looks for improvising her work in the best way possible. She is also said to have mentioned that the ladies with voices who are a minority in our country should raise their voice for the betterment of the ladies who are the silent majority.

Preity Zinta also felt that she was obliged to give back at least something for the society from which she has been benefited.
